changes to the Facebook Pages layout.

04 Aug 6 changes to Facebook Pages that can affect your business

Every now and then Facebook decides to change a few things around just to freshen things up and make our lives a bit more fun. This time they are making changes to the Facebook Pages layout. These changes are being rolled out slowly and unlike past changes, this time, they seem to be rolling them out on a profile-by-profile basis. This means that some users are already seeing the new pages layout whilst others aren’t.

As per usual, Facebook has not announced the date when these changes will be rolled out to everyone, but here’s what it’s going to look like and how it could affect your business.

Facebook changes to pages

On most pages, the design changes have not detrimentally affected the way the pages look, at least not significantly. For the time being, it is advisable to make changes only to pages whose design is significantly affected by the new layout.  Here are the top 6 changes that are being rolled out and how they can affect your page and ultimately your business.

  1. Profile pic/logo has moved off the cover photo.
  2. The About section has moved to the right
  3. Page Tabs have moved from the bottom of the cover photo to under the logo –with every single tab listed.
  4. Important buttons have moved to the right. Like, Message and Share Buttons are longer superimposed on the cover pic.
  5. The Call-to-Action button has also moved to the right and is bigger and more visible. The Book now,” “Call Now,” “Shop Now,” “Watch Video,” “Request Appointment,” and “Send Email,” and more.
  6. There are now 27 Business categories to choose from and the page’s business category is more visible on the page

We’ll be keeping a close eye on more changes and will update pages accordingly. Watch this space.
